Junipero Serra High School has a rich athletic history. The school has produced some tremendously talented professional athletes over the years including names like Tom Brady (class of '95), Barry Bonds (class of '82) and NFL Hall of Famer Lynn Swann (class of '70).

In addition to these huge stars the school was the home to several other sports figures. Bob Fitzgerald (class of '84) is the Golden State Warriors play-by-play announcer and co-host of the show "Fitz and Brooks" on Bay Area radio. Tom Scott (class of '69) spent 11 years in the Canadian Football League where he won 5 Grey Cups and is a member of the CFL Hall of Fame. Jim Fregosi (class of '59) had his number retired by the Angels and is a 6-time MLB All-Star and Gold Glove award winner.

Seen in the image is the 1954 football team, the last to go undefeated. The team as a whole was inducted into Serra's hall of fame, as well as several individuals from that team.
